Why the app is not on Google Play

Android has historically allowed users to install apps from outside a single centralized store. New developer-verification rules are changing that model for many users and developers. Likely Bikes is distributed independently to preserve that direct relationship between user and developer.

This avoids depending on Google Play publishing and developer-registration requirements. You remain in control: installing the APK is your choice, and official production APKs are distributed only through the public GitHub Releases page linked here.
